At last, a simple and easy method of adding secure credit and debit card payments to an unattended parking, vending or other kiosk-type terminal.
Another world first from CreditCall, Apollo allows manufacturers and operators of virtually any type of payment terminal to start accepting Chip and PIN and magnetic stripe card payment fast.
As a pre-certified solution it is completely free from the costly and time-consuming rigours of EMV testing and certification - that has all been done.
The result is a fully EMV compliant, self contained unit that can literally drop into the host machine and start processing transactions, with very little integration being required.
Whilst it is the users' cards and the type of goods or services being sold that dictate whether transactions are authorised online or not, Apollo supports full online authorisation, with fallback to offline in the event of communications failure. Apollo is therefore suitable for applications such as Pay-on-Foot parking, as used at airports, where it is essential that a transaction is able to be made under all circumstances.

Apollo hardware and options
Physically Apollo is a compact hardware module based on a commercial WindowsCE single board computer. It runs CreditCall's widely proven EmvXCE EMV transaction processing Kernel and interfaces with the host machine's controller through a serial link. The online communications capability - required by the acquiring banks for authorisations in certain circumstances - and for batch settlement of transactions, is achieved through a GPRS modem. Alternatively if the host machine has an existing internet connection, this can be shared with Apollo as a means of external communications.
Apollo is directly connected to a choice of EMV Level 1 approved card reader/PIN Pad combinations, and leading manufacturers' models are supported. PIN and card data encryption is all handled by the reader/PIN Pad combination, with just a simple serial connection being made to the Apollo.
transaction authorisation and settlement
Apollo has been designed to operate with CreditCall's CardEaseXML transaction authorisation and settlement platform. This incorporates the CreditCall fully bank-approved EFT system enabling multiple customers to simultaneously authorise and settle a wide range of transaction types from a diverse terminal base.
security
The CardEaseXML/A70 EFT system has been designed to ensure that transaction data and customer sensitive information is stored in a highly secure manner that conforms to the latest payment card industry data security standards (PCI DSS) required by all of the major card schemes.
Apollo represents a simple and easy method of adding secure credit and debit card payments to unattended payment terminals.
